How do you ask an ex boyfriend for your things back?

I haven't talked to my ex ever since probably a few days before New Years and just a few weeks ago I was talking to my best friend about old pictures and I remembered when I was with my ex, we would fight a lot and he'd try to find stupid things to get on me about, to use it against me in an argument, which was very pathetic. So one day he had taken a few CDs from me that had a lot of old photos on them that included pictures with my first boyfriend, old friends, just good, old memories in general. Well, he took them and yeah, used pictures I had with guys from the past, against me since there was nothing else. He never gave them back and we broke up on bad terms and now he has a new girlfriend. I don't know how I should ask him for my things back because first of all, he lives 2 hours away from me, I don't want to look stupid and he ends up ignoring me, and I do not want him to think that I miss him at all. I know how he is. Big headed over dumb ****.How do you ask an ex boyfriend for your things back?
Personally I would just let it go but then I'm not you. But it has been 6 months since you broke up with him. If you still want these items back then just give him a call, email him or send him a note through the mail and tell him. There is no reason that you might look stupid and I wouldn't worry about him thinking you miss him. He has a new girlfriend so he has obviously moved on with his life. I doubt that he'll continue using these items against you. That is assuming he even still has them. If he refuses to return the items then just drop the matter entirely and move on. if he's an *** like u say he is, then those pics are probably gone! but if you want, you should contact him. if you don't care about him and knows how he is, then you shouldn't be upset by what he does or may think. at least you know you tried.
just simply call him or text him, sayin ';i need my stuff back'; and if he comes by and gives it to u, let him kno he doesnt even need 2 get out of his car to do dat, just let him hand u ur stuff, cuz afterall, thats what u want from him. simple as dat.
