How do you tell your ex-boyfriend you want him back in your life and you can't live without him?

I recently broke up with my boyfriend and I realize now that it was the wrong thing to do. We both are still in love with one another and he is a year older than me. I really want to tell him myself not get his bestfriend to do it.
